Happy Monday, Willow Families! Here are this week's updates:
1/2 Day - Students will have a half day of school this Friday, 3/10/17, for the teachers' Records Day.
IRP - Due to the 1/2 day on Friday, we will have our IRP time on Thursday this week. We will be checking in typed bibliography pages.
Spelling - Because of the 1/2 and IRP, we will not have spelling tests this week. The current list will roll over to next Friday, 3/17/17.
Conferences - Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held next week on Thursday, 3/16/17, and Friday, 3/17/17, from 1:45 to 6:00 p.m. both days.Here is the link to the SignUp Genius:
Door Decoration - Our class has chosen the theme "Spend Some Koala-ty Time With a Book" for our Reading Month door decoration. This will involve creating an Australian scene with koalas reading books up in the eucalyptus trees. The students will do a lot of the work themselves, but I'm hoping that a parent or two might be able to help me actually put it up on the door on Thursday after school. Any takers? =)
Homework - We sent our second round of math homlework home on Friday. This will include a front/back sheet with leveled content on the front and word problems on the back, and, for most students, a sheet of multiplication fact practice. Those who are practicing division facts will have sheets starting this Friday. If your child has any confusion regarding their homework, please encourage them to check in with a teacher before the due date!
Cultural Fair - As we work on our class research for our South American country of Suriname, we will create a wish list for decorations, traditional foods, etc. Stay tuned for updates!
