Hello, Willow Fams! Happy Martin Luther King, Jr., Day!

As we normalize in Trimester Two and settle back into routines, I'm taking a moment to remind myself that we are so fortunate, not only to have the incredible class that we have this year, but also in the fact that we are here, now.

A deep breath, and here are our updates for the coming week:

Spelling Tests

The current list is up! Again, apologies for skipping the last one. Tests will be on Friday, after all, because our field trip is not until 10:10 that day.

IRP

This Friday, we will be checking in our IRP informational resources. As a reminder, that includes at least 3 books, 1 reference source (encyclopedia-type resources), 1 magazine article, and 1 website article.

The kids need to bring their bags with all materials each IRP day. This will include their books from now on. If you find that you will not have your books by this Friday, please let me know as soon as possible. We can be flexible if needed. For example, if you have placed books on hold with the library, but they won't be in in time for check-in, you can write down or print the info for them and send that in, instead.

Field Trip

We will be going to the Motown Museum from 10:10 to 12:10 this Friday! Because of the small size of the museum, the classes are staggered and we won't need chaperones.

"World Market"

We very much enjoyed the baleadas that Sam brought in last Thursday! If your child still wants to bring in their recipe from their geography report, we will continue to offer that as an option throughout this month. Just make sure to give the heads-up ahead of time!
